vr()

Since v1.0.0

Also known as the "rhythm unit", the vr() function returns a size that respect the vertical rhythm. It required a number with a 0.5 precision as parameter, for example "0.5" or "1.5". If this condition is not respected (for example with "0.4" or "1.2"), it will return 1vr.

vr($unit-factor: 1);

height: vr();
// Returns 1.5rem/24px

height: vr(0.5);
// Returns 0.75rem/12px

height: vr(2);
// Returns 3rem/48px

height: vr(3.14);
// Back to default value, returns 1.5rem/24px

adjust-vr()

Since v1.0.0

To make different elements feel consistent, this function can be used to adjust the line-height, depending of the font-size and the margins.

adjust-vr($vertical-rhythm: 1, $font-size, $spacings: 0);

line-height: adjust-vr(1, 0.875rem, spacing.add-space(1));
// Returns 1.2857142857 (the default line-height is 1.5)

add-space()

Since v1.0.0

The function returns a value from the $g-spacers map (1 to 5). The goal is to use this functions when a margin is set to stay constant and preserve the vertical rhythm.

add-space($unit-factor: 3);

margin-bottom: add-space();
// Returns 1.5rem/24px

margin-bottom: add-space(2);
// Returns 0.75rem/12px

margin-bottom: add-space(8);
// Back to default value, returns 1.5rem/24px
